I’m in a mood and need to be shaken from it. Although it’s been over a year since I’ve had a completed script, I had still yet to do this. “This” being a pitch. I dreamed of making it past this and the pitch just seemed like it would come to me, given the opportunity. Haven’t had that opportunity…yet. So here goes.
United States of Zombie
Follow two ordinary men; one on the path to destruction, the other on the outskirts of rectification. Behold the lives of Clifton Sinclair and Dr. Erik Lazarus, as they become intertwined in a battle of life and death, good verses evil, and the uncertainty of human existence. Can the fearless defeat the physical embodiment of death or are they both too late to be saved? Will Clifton Sinclair ever learn the truth about himself, or is he just another citizen in the United States of Zombie?

I’m trying to get to sleep, the key word here is trying, but I can’t help but think of different ways to approach stories I’ve been working on. It’s like the ideas come when I’m not really wanting them…
It’s interesting if anything. Another thing I got to thinking about, I do that a lot instead of actually doing, cute isn’t it? Anyway, there seems to be a lot of shitty movies and tv shows lately, although I’m too poor for cable, but I can imagine all the shit people must be watching, I do that a lot too, imagine, Lenon would be proud. I was thinking, instead of putting all this effort into writing something great, why not just churn out a shit movie or pilot for the masses to throw money at? Use it like a get rich quick scheme you know? How bout this for a pitch…A group of renegade gas station attendants struggle to make ends meet in their small, unpopular town. They decide to start a dance gang to attract tourists and in the process learn more about who they are and what makes their little town so great. Ridonkulously golden idea right? It’s got dancing! Those movies seem to be HUGE right now! It’ll be in 4D meaning you can never get your time or money you spent on it back. Or your soul.
Seriously though, I’m tired, so lets o get that overpriced education.

I’m at my Mom and Dad’s hanging out. It’s quiet, which kind of helps me to remember those days of growing up here. First and last experiences, new or different beginnings. I remember the last night I spent here before I moved about, about two years ago. I wasn’t sad but I wasn’t terribly excited. I think I was more excepting of the changes. And I moved out on my own accord, so this isn’t at all something bad. It’s actually a good memory. It’s strange too, knowing that I wouldn’t wake up, the first time in 22yrs, to the sound of my Dad singing. Knowing that I wouldn’t come home to a meal that I didn’t have to plan, or asking how our days at work were. Almost surreal. Now that I visit, not very often, does the house still feel like it’s a part of my own? Did I make a mark significant enough to claim my stake in the memories of these walls? I’d like to say yes. I’d like to say that the walls are still inviting and familiar. I’d like to say that when I step into this house, with it’s vacuumed carpets and ever shinning glass table tops, that the air that hits my nostrils takes me to a better place then the outside world. Of youth and lessons and love and value. Of life. This life, the one I currently have and will continue to have, with my parents, my brother, my girlfriend, their dog, our family, my family. It can only get better from here on out.
